Perhaps it's just a sign that I'm old and irrelevant, but I don't understand what possesses those who become active TikTokers. The risk to reward ratio seems low, especially if you're always showing your face and spouting your opinions. By and large, viral fame isn't that fun, and only the crème de la crème of creators will ever get the brand deals that offer the megabucks.

However, I can't deny that peoples' hunger to let off steam in this very public way is incredibly entertaining. There's a reason that it's so easy to become addicted to, after all. The 24/7 TV app that always has a new curveball to throw at us, TikTok is likely to remain popular for as long as we are allowed to use it. Plus, it's a great place for farming screenshots like the ones below. Some may be cringe, but they're also compelling.
